IT Project Officer

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented IT Project Officer or Manager to support a major dental group based in the Hunter region through a major business IT infrastructure upgrade project.

Based in Sydney, the Central Coast or the Newcastle area, you will play a critical role in the IT infrastructure uplift, ensuring that hardware, networking, and legacy systems are transitioned seamlessly

As the primary coordinator for these integrations, you will be a hands-on facilitator who can hit the ground running. You will work closely with internal teams and external vendors to manage the end-to-end technical transition of multiple dental clinics simultaneously.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

You will lead the IT integration activities across a variety of dental clinics, owning the infrastructure deployment from start to finish. This includes overseeing hardware rollouts—such as monitors and printers—and managing the implementation of hardware. A major part of this role involves coordinating resources and vendors to migrate clinics from their legacy environments over to the new infrastructure.

You will also be responsible for the “exit” phase, managing the decommissioning of legacy vendors and ensuring secure asset disposal. Using Prince2 or Waterfall methodologies, you will keep the project on track, providing clear weekly status updates and progress reports to key stakeholders.

You will occasionally need to travel to the Maitland office for team collaboration and may visit clinic sites during the initial onboarding phases to ensure a smooth “go-live.”

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Proven Experience: A strong track record in IT project coordination or officer roles, specifically within hardware or network deployments.
  • Technical Familiarity: Prior experience in multi-site IT Hardware or Network rollouts will be a significant advantage.
  • Vendor Management: Excellent skills in managing third-party providers and ensuring they deliver to project timelines.
  • Methodology: Strong understanding of Prince2, Waterfall or Agile project management frameworks.
  • Communication: Ability to provide clear reporting and maintain alignment between technical teams and business stakeholders.
  • Adaptability: A “can-do” attitude with the ability to manage multiple clinic integrations at various stages of the lifecycle
