Contracting Types: Choosing Your Engagement Model

When you accept a contracting position, we provide three distinct engagement options tailored to your professional structure. By managing these complexities, we get you straight into the project without the administrative burden.
Option One: PAYG Contracting
This is the most popular choice for specialists who prefer to focus on their output rather than administration.

Loading:

You receive a 25% loading on your base rate in lieu of leave entitlements as you don’t accrue sick leave or annual leave.

Our Responsibility:

NTP Talent acts as your employer of record, handling:

  • Fortnightly payroll and automated payslips.

  • Direct tax withholding (ATO) and HECS deductions.

  • Full coverage for Worker’s Compensation, $10M Professional Indemnity, and $20M Public Liability Insurance.

  • Monthly superannuation contributions and voluntary salary sacrificing.


Option Two: ABN Contracting (Pty Ltd Company)
Designed for contractors operating as a formal business entity. This model requires a higher level of personal administration.

Structure:

You must operate a registered Pty Ltd Company with an active ABN.

Documentation:

You are required to provide Certificates of Currency for your own insurances (Workers’ Comp, PI, and PL).

Compliance:

You are responsible for your own GST, BAS statements, and PSI tax rule compliance.

Payment:

NTP Talent issues a Recipient Created Tax Invoice (RCTI) fortnightly.


Note: We cannot engage Sole Traders under the same terms as Pty Ltd companies due to legal tax withholding requirements

Option Three: Management Company Contracting
For high-earning specialists who utilise third-party payroll and back-office support. You engage your chosen management company directly, and NTP Talent coordinates the contract through them.

You need to investigate these options and Management Companies yourself and provide NTP Talent with the details before you start your contract. We are unable to recommend or provide quotes for third-party businesses that offer these services.

Pay & Superannuation
Frequency

Fortnightly. Funds reach your nominated account every Thursday after being finalised on a Wednesday.

Transparency

Access all payslips via the Xemplo Portal.

Super

Currently paid monthly; transitioning to pay-period frequency as of July 1, 2026.
Timesheets & Expenses
The Portal

Use Xemplo on any device to submit hours by COB Friday.

Manager Approval

Approvals are required by 11:00 AM Monday to ensure your Thursday pay run.

Expenses

Submit pre-approved expenses directly through the portal with attached receipts for reimbursement in the following pay cycle.

1. Keep Next of Kin details updated in Xemplo.

2. Communicate all leave or absences to your NTP recruiter immediately.

3. Report any site-specific concerns via our Contractor Concern Form.
