Principal Software Engineer

What you’ll be doing:

• Architecting and executing a repository consolidation project to streamline three legacy platforms (spanning Magento, marketplace, and .NET/SQL Server environments).
• Serving as the core internal technical authority, partnering closely with the founders, and a top-tier external engineering agency.
• “Lead the architectural transition to a proprietary, agentic AI-native technology platform, consolidating legacy stacks into a high-performance, modern architecture
• Balancing deep, rigorous engineering logic with an agile, AI-assisted development approach.
• Navigating the complexities of legacy codebases to ensure operational stability while the business shifts toward its new flagship platform.

Experience required:

• Proven experience as a Lead or Principal Engineer, ideally within a scaling startup or fast-paced software environment.
• Deep technical software engineering experience, with a strong understanding of the software development lifecycle, architecture, and software delivery
• Strong vendor management skills—you know how to hold external development teams accountable and extract critical technical knowledge.
• An AI-native mindset, with an intrinsic understanding of how to leverage modern AI tools to accelerate development workflows.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and the autonomy required to excel as a self-directed, principal engineer.
