Databricks Solution Architect

About the Role This is a six-week contract with an immediate start for a Databricks Solution Architect to deliver a defined piece of work.

You will play a key role in shaping data engineering and intelligent analytics solutions, working closely with the client to remove technical blockers and accelerate best practice across their big data platform. The scope is hands-on and deeply technical, with the work running on a tight timeline.

Your Impact and Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute hands-on to the project using Databricks, Apache Spark, and related big data tools to build scalable, high-performing pipelines and platforms.
• Design, implement, and fine-tune Databricks Genie spaces and AI BI dashboards to enable conversational, natural-language data exploration for enterprise stakeholders.
• Design and implement data architectures that simplify complex business problems.
• Advise the client on strategic technical decisions, challenge assumptions, and guide the team in overcoming roadblocks.
• Work across cloud platforms integrating Databricks with Hadoop, Flink, Presto, Redshift, and others.

Required Experience & Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in consulting.
• Completed Data Engineering Professional certification and required classes.
• Minimum 6 to 8+ projects delivered with hands-on experience in development on Databricks.
• Current knowledge across the breadth of the Databricks product and platform, with specific, practical familiarity with Databricks Genie and Unity Catalog asset modeling.
• Databricks Data Engineering Professional or Associate Certification.
• Expertise with cloud data architectures, Databricks platform, and Apache Spark.

Preferred Skills

• Hands-on experience deploying Databricks AI BI (Dashboards and Genie) to deliver intuitive, AI-powered insights to business users.
• Experience with BigQuery, Synapse, Redshift, Hadoop, Flink, Presto.
• Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to challenge and lead technical strategy.
