ABOUT THE ROLE
This Newcastle-based enterprise organisation is seeking a Master Scheduler to join their digital transformation team, where you will be responsible for developing, managing, and maintaining integrated program schedules across all projects within the program. This is an initial 12-month fixed-term contract and offering a great work location in the Newcastle CBD.
This role will ensure accurate tracking of project timelines, dependencies, and milestones to facilitate effective planning, risk management, and decision-making. You will work closely with project managers and key stakeholders to drive schedule integrity, transparency, and alignment across the Digital Transformation program.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and maintain the integrated master schedule for the Program, incorporating input from all relevant project schedules.
- Monitor and report schedule performance, progress against milestones, and potential risks and issues affecting project delivery.
- Ensure schedules are consistent with the project management framework, and that schedule updates are timely and accurate.
- Conduct critical path, schedule risk, and “what-if” analyses to identify key issues and support planning decisions.
- Partner with Project Managers to resolve scheduling conflicts and ensure cross-project dependencies are managed effectively.
- Establish and promote schedule management standards, tools, and templates.
- Support the Program Director and Project Managers with portfolio-level reporting, planning, and resource forecasting activities.
- Train and coach project teams in best practice scheduling techniques and tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, or equivalent).
- Coordinate regular schedule review and validation workshops with stakeholders.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Tertiary qualifications in Project Management, Engineering, Business, or related fiel
- Certification or training in project scheduling methodologies or tools (e.g., Jira, MS Project).
- Demonstrated experience (5+ years) in master scheduling or project controls across complex programs or portfolios.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with expertise in schedule risk analysis and critical path methods.
- Proven ability to manage integrated schedules in complex environments with multiple dependencies.
- Strong consulting skills and able to work/listen to key stakeholders and provide support and guidance on scheduling skills
- High attention to detail and a structured, methodical approach to schedule management.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Agile schedule development experience.
- Hands-on Experience in using scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira) and producing program-level reporting dashboards.
- High-level experience with Jira and Confluence, including integrating PI objectives, reporting, and collaboration across delivery teams.
