About the Role:
A fast-growing space technology company is looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Front-End Engineer to help make satellite technology simple and accessible. In this role, you will play a key part in developing and expanding a modular software suite that supports the next generation of Earth observation satellite operations. You will apply your technical expertise while working closely with engineers, scientists, and developers from a range of disciplines.

Your work will focus on maintaining and enhancing a server-side rendered user interface pipeline used to build hypermedia-based applications. These applications provide access to and administration of a variety of tools and systems, with a strong emphasis on accessibility and the ability to customise deployments for individual customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the team to maintain, update, and extend visual web interfaces, ensuring they remain accurate and user-friendly for customers.
• Assist in designing and implementing new features and elements within the web interfaces.
• Address and resolve customer inquiries and issues related to the web interfaces, contributing to remediation plans.
• Participate in reviewing and redesigning web interfaces to enhance user experience and clarity.
• Provide advice and mentorship to developers and other team members seeking to build their front-end skills.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Minimum 5 years of experience developing and maintaining scalable web applications.
• Strong proficiency with core front-end technologies: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
• Experience building web applications using multi-page hypertext architectures and server-side rendering techniques without relying on client-side frameworks.
• Comfortable working with vanilla JavaScript and server-side templating.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with the Go (Golang) language, particularly its html/template library for server-side templating.
• Solid understanding of UI/UX design principles and best practices.
• Familiarity with web mapping technologies, such as creating and managing interactive online maps.
• Understanding of the challenges involved in designing intuitive map interfaces that effectively communicate spatial data to users.
• Knowledge of accessibility standards, especially WCAG guidelines, and their implications on interface design.
• Experience or familiarity with geospatial data conventions and standards is a plus.
